Adjustment Procedures
This section contains information needed to adjust the TAS 455 and
TAS 465 Analog Oscilloscopes.
Description Ċ The Adjustment Procedures are divided into two parts:
H General information about adjusting the oscilloscope
H Written procedures for calibrating the oscilloscope
Purpose Ċ Use these procedures to return the oscilloscope to conforĆ
mance with its Warranted Characteristics as listed in Section 1, SpecificaĆ
tions. They also optimize the performance of the oscilloscope.
These procedures are not required to verify the oscilloscope conforms with
its warranted characteristics. Performance verification procedures are found
in Section 4, Performance Verification.
Adjustment Interval Ċ As a general rule, perform these adjustments after
every 2,000 hours of operation or once a year if used infrequently.
Before you perform this procedure, you need to address the following
requirements.
Personnel
This procedure is only to be performed by trained service technicians.
Access to Adjustments
The cabinet must be removed to perform the adjustment procedure. Refer to
Section 6, Maintenance, for procedures to remove the cabinet. The adjustĆ
ment procedures make references to adjustments located on internal circuit
boards. Figure 5Ć1 shows the location of each board with adjustments. The
end of this section contains figures that show the location of each adjustĆ
ment for each circuit board.
WarmĆUp Period
This oscilloscope requires a 20 minute warmĆup period in a 20_ Cto30_C
environment before performing this adjustment procedure. Adjustments
performed before the operating temperature has stabilized may cause errors
in performance.
