typeoffilter,andisusedtomakebrighttimbressound
darker.
HPF:Thiscutsoutthepartsofthesoundwhicharelower
thanthecutofffrequency.Youcanusethistomaketimbres
soundthinnerormorebuzzy.
BPF:Thiscutsoutallpartsofth
esound,bothhighsand
lows,exceptfortheregionaroundthecutofffrequency.
Sincethisfiltercutsoutbothhighandlowfrequencies,its
effectcanchangedramaticallydependingonthecutoffset‐
tingandtheoscillator ’smultisample.
Withlowresonancesettings,youcanusetheBandPassfil‐
tertocr
eatetelephoneorvintagephonographsounds.With
higherresonancesettings,itcancreatebuzzyornasaltim‐
bres.
BRF:Thisfiltertype–alsocalledanotchfilter–cutsonlythe
partsofthesoundthataredirectlyaroundthecutofffre‐
quency.TrymodulatingthecutoffwithanLFOtocreate
phaser‐likeef
fects.
