Thefilterwillproduceverydifferentresultsdependingon
theselectedfiltertype.Theselectionswillchangeslightly
accordingtotheselectedFilterRouting,toshowthecorrect
cutoffslopeindBperoctave.
LPF:Thiscutsoutthepartsofthesoundwhicharehigher
thanthecutofffrequency.LowPassisth
emostcommon
typeoffilter,andisusedtomakebrighttimbressound
darker.
HPF:Thiscutsoutthepartsofthesoundwhicharelower
thanthecutofffrequency.Youcanusethistomaketimbres
soundthinnerormorebuzzy.
BPF:Thiscutsoutallpartsofth
esound,bothhighsand
lows,exceptfortheregionaroundthecutofffrequency.
Sincethisfiltercutsoutbothhighandlowfrequencies,its
effectcanchangedramaticallydependingonthecutoffset
tingandtheoscillator ’smultisample.
Withlowresonancesettings,youcanusetheBandPassfil
tertocr
eatetelephoneorvintagephonographsounds.With
higherresonancesettings,itcancreatebuzzyornasaltim
bres.
BRF:Thisfiltertype–alsocalledanotchfilter–cutsonlythe
partsofthesoundthataredirectlyaroundthecutofffre
quency.TrymodulatingthecutoffwithanLFOtocreate
phaserlikeef
fects.
