ThismessageistransmittedifyouassignMasterVolumeas
thefunctionofthefootpedal.Thiswilladjusttheoverall
volumebalancewithoutchangingtherelativevolumebal
ancebetweentimbres.Whenthismessageisreceiv
ed,the
resultwillbethesameaswhenthecontrollerisused.
Master balance [F0, 7F, nn, 04, 02, vv, mm, F7]
(vv:lowerbyteofthevalue,mm:upperbyteofthevalue,
togetherindicating16384steps,where8192isthedefault
position,andlowervalueswillmovethesoundtowardthe
left)
Whenthisisreceived,theoverallpanningwillbeadjusted
withoutchangingtherelativepanningbetweentimbres.
Master fine tuning [F0, 7F, nn, 04, 03, vv, mm, F7]
(Avalueof8192[mm,vv=40,00]iscenter,4096[mm,vv=20,
00]is–50cents,and12288[mm,vv=60,00]is+50cents.)
Whenthisisreceived,the“MTune(MasterTune)”parame
terwillbeset.
Master coarse tuning [F0, 7F, nn, 04, 04, vv, mm, F7]
(Normallyonlytheupperbytemmisused.Avalueof8192
[mm,vv=40,00]iscenter,6656[mm,vv=34,00]is–12semi
tones,and9728[mm,vv=4C,00]is+12semitones.)
Whenthisisreceived,the“Transpose”parameterwillbe
set.
Transmitting sound settings data (Data
Dump)
Dataforprograms,andperformancescanbetransmittedas
MIDISystemExclusivemessages.Theoperationofsending
thissystemexclusivedatatoanexternaldeviceiscalleda
“datadump.”
Byperformingadatadump,youcanstorethePS60’s
soundsandsettingsonanexternaldevice,orrewritethe
soundsandsett
ingsofanotherPS60.
Ifthe“SysEx(SystemExclusive)”(page73)settingison,
datawillalsobedumpedinresponsetoaDumpRequest
message.
WhenthePS60receivesthisdata,thedatawillbewritten
intotheeditbuffer.Ifyouwanttosavethedataintointernal
memory,yo
u’llhavetosavebyusingtheWriteoperation.
ThiscanbedoneeitherbyexecutingtheWriteoperation
(See“Saving(Storing/Writing)”onpage25oftheOwner’s
manual)onthePS60itself,EditorUtility,orbyaMIDISys
temExclusiveprogramwriterequest,performancewrite
requestorglobalsettingwriterequest.
Editing sounds via SysEx
ByusingvariousMIDI SystemExclusivedatadumps,you
canrewriteallprogramsoranindividualprogram.By
usingparameterchangemessages,youcaneditindividual
parametersasfollows.
Parameter changes
•InProgramEditmode,allparametersotherthanthe
programnamecanbeedited.
•InPerformanceEditmode,parametersotherthanthe
performancenamecanbeedited.
Cautionsregardingdatadumpsandsoundediting
•AfterMIDISystemExclusivedatahasbeenreceivedand
processed,aDataLoadCompletedmessagewillbe
transmitted.Th
econtrolmasterdevicemustnottransmit
thenextmessageuntilthismessageisreceived(oruntila
sufficientintervaloftimehaselapsed).
•Whenyouchangeuseparameterchangestoedit,the
changeswillaffectthedataintheeditbufferandwillnot
bestoredininternalmemoryunlessyo
uWrite,sothat
thechangeswillbelostifyoureselecttheprogramor
performance.TheWriteoperationcanbeperformedbya
MIDISystemExclusiveProgramWriteRequestor
PerformanceWriteRequestmessage,inadditiontothe
usualmethodofusingthePS60’sswitchesorEditor

If notes are stuck
Ifaproblemhascausednotestocontinuesoundingeven
thoughyouʹvestoppedplayingthekeyboard(orstopped
playingviaMIDI),youcanstopthestucknotesbyswitch
ingmodesonthePS60.
