MANUAL MODE AND THE QUICKSTART KEY
Manual mode (C956i and C954i) lets you control the incline and running belt speed
which affects the effort you put into your workout. As with other programs, when
you complete the time limit set for the program, the automatic cool-down period
begins.
You can choose Manual mode in two different ways:
pressing the QUICKSTART key at the Precor banner. QUICKSTART
bypasses the remaining selections and starts the Manual program. Default
values include a time limit set by the Club, a weight value of 150 lbs. (68 kg.)
and an age of zero. The SmartRate display is inactive.
pressing ENTER at the Precor banner. This causes the C954i or C956i
to display several setup prompts. At the program prompt, you select
#1 — Manual program.
The Manual program profile appears as a flat line. Use the ▼▲ keys or the
numeric keys to adjust the incline or speed. (See pages 33 and 34 for more
information on the different key’s function.) As you proceed with your workout, a
blinking cell represents your position on the program.
C956i TRACK COURSE
The C956i Track course presents an oval as the program profile. The “lap” count
appears on the inside of the oval and a blinking segment indicates your position on
the track. One loop around the track represents 440 yards (¼ mile) or 400 meters.
You can continue (counterclockwise) around the track for the duration of the
course (which can be limited by the club). The lap count that appears represents
the number of laps completed, plus the one that your on.
PROGRAMS WITH PRESET INCLINES
In the preset programs, such as the C954i Cross Country program or the C956i
Aerobic programs, the incline is predetermined. You can make changes to the
running belt speed throughout the program and even the preset incline can be
overridden.
