TROUBLE-SHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE
Inspectand tighlenall partseach timeyou usethe CROSS TRAINERe. Replace any warn parts immediately.Outside
surfacesof theCROSSTRAINERe can be cleaned usinga damp clothand mild detergent. Keep all liquids away from
thestepperconsoleand the PERSONALTRAINERcomputer. Most CROSSTRAINER problems can be solvedby follow-
ing theslapsbelow. Findthe applicable symptomand fallowthe slap(s)lided. If furtherassistanceisneeded, call our
CustomerServiceDepadmenttoll-free at 1-800-999-3756, Monday throughFriday, 6 a.m. until'6 p.m. Mountain
.time (excludingholidays).
1. SYMPTOM: THE PERSONALTRAINER COMPUTER DISPLAYSAN ERROR CODE ("EEE")
a. While theweightsettingischanging,the motorwillbeheardandtheSETSandREPSdisplayswillshowa rapidly
rotatingindicator.To preventdamage to the weight system,do notputany pressureon the leg developer,arms
or cableswhiletheweightsettingischanging. Ifthe tat bar or rower bar isattachedto the high pulleystation,restit
in therock near thehigh pulleystation.Wait for.the soundof themotorto stopbeforeyou continue. If the comput-
er sensespressure on theweight systemwhile theweight settingischanging, theWEIGHT display will showan
error code ("EEE")for two seconds,and the weight settingwill sl-opchanging. TheWEIGHT dis'pla),will then show
the current weight setting.Make surethat there is no pressureon theleg developer, arms or cables. Pressthe
increaseor decrease button beneath theWEIGHT display to changethe weight settingas desired.
2. SYMPTOM: THE MAIN CABLEDOES NOT MOVE SMOOTHLY, OR THEREIS SLACK IN THE MAIN CABLE
a. Inspectthe routingofthecables and make surethatthey are in thegroovesin all of the pulleys.If they are not,
tarred the problem. If thecables are not properly routed, theywill be damaged when used..
b. If there isslackin the Main Cable (51), locate the
AdjustmentBracket(53) near the bottom of the
.... rightsideshield.Hold theend of theWeight Cable
(52) firmly, and slidetheAdjustmentBracketfar-
ther ontotheWeight Cable. Tightenthe 5/16" Nut
(82) ogaiestthe AdjustmentBracket.Testthe Main
Cable. Ifthe mator stallsor hesitates,loosenthe
5/16" Nut slightly.Ifthe 5/16" Nut istightenedas
far as passible and thereisstillslack,the Main
Cable shouldbe replaced.See ORDERING

3.- SYMPTOM:THE STEPPERCONSOLE DOES NOT
FUNCTION PROPERLY
a, As you step,movethe stepper pedals verticallyat
least8 inches.If)our stepsare too shallow, the
movementof the stepperpedalswill not be detect-
ed. Ifthe stepperconsolestilldoes not function
properly, theReedSwitch(99) con be adjusted by
slidingthebarrel of the ReedSwitch up and down
slightly.Repeatuntilthe stepperconsoledisplays
correctfeedback.If necessary,the 3/4" Screw
(119} attachingtheReedSwitchBracket(120) can
be loosenedand the positionof the Bracketcan be
adjusted.
