Forexample,iftheheartratetargetis132BPM,andtheuser’spulsebeginstofall,the900Ercomputerwillslowlyincreasethe
load.Eventually,theamountofworkbeingperformedbytheuserwillincreaseandsowilltheheartrate.Conversely,ifthe
user’sheartrateclimbsabove
thetargetzone,theloadwillbereduced,ultimatelydecreasingtheuser’sheartrate.
Theadvantagesofheartratecontrolprogramsarethesimplicityandaccuracybywhichtheidealcardiovasculartrainingzoneis
maintainedtherebyofferingaveryefficientworkout.
Fortheinteractiveheartrateprogramstooperate,
thecomputermustreceiveaheartratesignalfromthetouchheartrate
sensorsoroptionalcheststraptransmitter.Ifnosignalisdetected,theprogramwillnotstart,thePulsefieldwilldisplay‐‐‐
andtheheartsymbolwillnotbelit.
Forthegreatestcardiovascularbenefit,most
personsshouldtargetaheartratethatisbetween60%and85%oftheir
calculatedmaximumheartrate.Anindividual’scalculatedmaximumheartrateisestimatedat220Bpm,minustheirage.Itis
unsafetoexceed90%ofthiscalculatedheartrate.The900Erellipticalisprogrammedtowarn
theuseriftheheartrateexceeds
95%oftheirmaximum.
Whentheuser’sheartratereachesorexceeds95%ofcalculatedmaximum,thePulsedisplaywillblinkthree(3)times,followed
bytwobeeps.Thewarningwillrepeateverythreeminutesiftheheartrateismaintained.

aneffectiveandsafeworkout,pleaseenterthecorrectdataforthecurrentuser.

TheTargetHeartRateprogramallows
theusertoselecttheirtargetheartrate.Theconsolewill
automaticallyadjusttheloadthekeeptheheartratewithinfour(4)Bpmofthedesiredgoal.Duringthe
program,theusercanadjusttheheartratetargetbetween60%and85%oftheircalculatedmaximum
heartratebypressing
theUP/DOWNkeys.
