message that “no walks or runs were useful” will appear. Repeat the process until a
calibration run or walk is successful.
IftheCalibrationtabshowsausefulcalibrationrunorwalk,youcanadjustthedistance
and improve accuracy. For example, if you know you ran exactly a mile, but the Calibra-
tion tab setting shows that you ran just over or just under a mile, you can make adjust-
ments manually using the up and down buttons. (fig.17)
YourNike+SportBandcanstorecalibrationinformationforupto8sensors.Eachtime
you get a new sensor, you will have to calibrate it.
Important:Beforeyoucalibrateasecondtime,youmustrstresetyourrunorwalkin
the Calibration tab settings. Click the Reset button to return back to the original factory
calibration settings. This will improve the accuracy of subsequent calibrations.
Note: Even after calibrating, the accuracy of the distance measurements may vary de-
pending on gait, running surface, incline, or temperature.
Note: Calibrating for your target “race pace” will give you even better accuracy on race day.
To customize more settings, select another tab. When you are finished, click the Done
button. This will save your changes, close the settings window, and take you back to the
Nike+ Utility main window.
