pulsecorrectly.Duringtheprogram,iftheheartratemonitorfailstosensethepulseyouwillseePblinkingonthePULSELCD.
Iftheheartratemonitorsensesthepulseproperly
youwillseethestableheartbeatsignonthePULSELCDandthecorrect

monitorsensestheuser’spulseproperlyandtheactualuser’spulsedoes
notreach65%ofthemaximumheartrate((220‐age)x65%),thenspeedwillincreaseby0.5MPH/0.8KPHper30seconds.If
theactualpulsereaches65%ofthemaximumheartrate,thespeedwillremainunchanged.If
theactualpulsereaches65%
ofthemaximumheartrateoveroneminute,thenthespeedwillbemaintainedthesameuntil thewarmupprogramfinishes.
Iftheactualuser’spulsefailstoreach65%ofthemaximumheartratewithinthefirst3minutesofwarmup,thecomputer
willcontinuethesecond3minuteswarmupprogram.Allworkoutinformationcontinuestocountupandthetimercounts
downfrom3:00.Duringthesecond3minutewarmup,thecomputerwillchangetheinclinelevelinsteadofspeed.Ifthe
heartratemonitorfailstosensetheuser’s

willcontinuethethird3minuteswarmupprogram.Allworkoutinformationcontinuestocountupandthetimercounts
downfrom3:00.During
thethird3minuteswarmup,bothspeedandinclineremainunchangedregardlessoftheactual
pulse.Iftimecountsdownto0and65%ofthemax.heartratestillcannotbereached,theTIMELCDwillshowFAIL,andthe
programwillstopandreturntoPOWERONstatus.
Afterthewarmupprogram(iftheactualpulsereaches65%ofthemax.heartratetocompletewarmupprogram),the
computerwillentertheHEARTRATECONTROLprogram.TIMEcountsdownfromtheprevioussetting.Distanceand
Calorieswillcontinuecountingupfromthewarmupprogram.During
theHEARTRATECONTROLprogram,theheartrate
monitorwillsensortheactualuser’spulseevery30seconds.Iftheactualuser’spulsedoesnotreach85%ofthemax.heart
rate,thentheinclinelevelwillbeincreasedby1levelevery30seconds.Iftheactualuser’spulse
reaches85%ofthemax.

Iftheactualuser’spulsereachesabove85%ofmax.heartrateover3minutes,theHEARTRATECONTROLprogramwillbe
shutdownandthecomputerwillentertheoneminuteCOOLDOWN
program.
WhentheTIMEcountsdownto0,theHEARTRATECONTROLprogramiscompleted,andthecomputerwillentertheone
minuteCOOLDOWNprogram.AftertheCOOLDOWNprogram,thecomputerwillreturntoPOWERONstatus.
ThepurposeoftheHEARTRATECONTROLprogramistokeep
theuser’spulsebetween65%ofthemax.heartrateand85%
ofthemax.heartrateastoreachthemostefficientworkoutresult.
