E. CONNECTION TO
COMPUTER
1. Start the software.
2. Connect the Polar IR Interface to the serial port (RS-232) of your computer.
3. If the receiver is in the Time of day display scroll up or down until
CONNECT is displayed.
4. Point the infrared window of the receiver towards the infrared window
of the interface. The maximum infrared transfer distance is 15 cm/ 6"
and the infrared transfer angle ± 15 degrees.
5. Activate the heart rate monitor connection function of the software.
Your receiver should now communicate with the computer. The receiver
automatically returns to the Time of day display after data transfer.
There is two-way communication between Polar S710
and a computer. Polar Precision Performance software
offers an easy way to analyse training data. A
training log makes it possible to plan future training.
Wrist receiver settings are easy to upload from the
software instead of entering them manually.
Downloading Training Data to a Computer
Returning to your previous maximum value
Start with the display showing Max Spd, Max Cad*, Max Alt or Max Pwr* in
the records file.
1. Press and hold the signal/light button to start returning to the previous
value. Return OLd appears and the value starts to flash.
2. You can still cancel the reset by pressing the stop button. If you are sure
you want to return to the previous value, press OK.
3. Press the stop button to exit the display.
Or, if you want to start resetting your maximum value to zero, press and
hold the signal/light button. Reset VALUE starts to flash. Once your have
reset the value you cannot retrieve it.
4. You can still cancel the reset by pressing the stop button. If you are sure
you want to return to the previous value, press OK.
5. Press and hold the stop button to return to the Time of day display.
*Optional Polar Cadence Sensor or Polar Power Output Sensor required.
