When you select a printer with the
[
Select Printer
]
dialog, the Port name is input
automatically. These examples are for the English version.
1.
Host name
If you print, using the TCP/IP protocol,
to select a printer using a host name or a
domain name, input the name here. In-
put the IP address into the
[
IP address
]
box when selecting a printer by IP ad-
dress.
Limitation

You cannot use a host name that
begins with “%%”.
Note

When you use DHCP to assign IP ad-
dresses to Network Interface Boards,
you can use a printer name (Current
Hostname on the network configura-
tion page) as the host name.
2.
IP address
If you print, using the TCP/IP protocol.
Input the IP address of the printer.
3.
Printer name
Input the printer's Network path name in
form of “%%Computer name \Share
name”. Do not input “\\” as head char-
acters but “%%”.
