SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer: User Guide 46
Building an iView
Purpose
This process entails creating and defining all the elements of the iView.
Process Flow
Once you have added an iView to your model, you create its data service layer, construct the
UI logic, and customize the iView layout.
The data service layer defines the underlying metadata of the application, such as the
Business APIs (BAPIs), stored procedures, and different queries used by an iView to
display, for example, a list of customers. For details, see Defining Data Services [Page
47].
The user interface (UI) logic defines the functionality of your application by creating
the UI components (for example, form view or table view), and the connections
between them and to the data services. The UI logic also defines data operators such
as filters, sort functions, and aggregation functions. For details, see Defining the UI
Logic [Page 138].
The layout defines all the visual aspects of the iView. For details, see Customizing the
iView UI [Page 167].
You may also wish to build an iView used to call up a URL. In this case, you drag the HTML
icon into the workspace and define the URL in the Define Properties list. For more
information, see Defining an HTML View [Page
162].
iViews created in SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer and deployed to a portal
can be translated using the standard portal translation tools accessed though
Content Administration. For information about using the translation worklists,
