BXM Functional Description
Overview, Trunk Mode
This provides an overview of the operation of the BXM when the card is configured in the trunk
mode for connection to another node or network.
Ingress
The ingress flow of ATM cells into the BXM when the card is configured for trunk operation is
shown in Figure 6-11.
ATM cells from a node or network are processed at the physical interface level by the SUNI
(OC3/OC12) or Demux/Mux (T3/E3), routed to applicable ingress slot queues, and served out to the
BPX crosspoint switch via the BPX Backplane.
