Follow your progress with the displays.
See step 5 on page 12.
Measure your heart rate if desired.
See step 6 on page 13.
Turn on the fan if desired.
See step 7 on page 13.
When the program is completed, remove the
key.
When the program ends, make sure that the in-
cline of the treadmill is at the lowest setting.
Next, remove the key from the console and put it in
a safe place. Note: If the display remains lit
after the key is removed, the console is in the
“demo” mode. See page 22 and turn off the
demo mode.
When you are finished using the treadmill,
switch the reset/off circuit breaker to the “off”
position and unplug the power cord.
HOW TO USE A PULSE PROGRAM
Follow the steps below to use a pulse program.
Insert the key into the console.
See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page
12.
Select a pulse program.
To select one of the two
pulse programs, press
the Program Select but-
ton repeatedly until the
Pulse Control indicator
lights.
When a pulse program
is selected, the Time
display will show how
long the program will
last. A profile of the tar-
get heart rate settings of
the selected program
will scroll across the
matrix.
Enter your age.
When a pulse program is
selected, the letters AGE
and the current age set-
ting will begin to flash in
the Calories/Pulse dis-
play. You must enter your
age to use a pulse program. If you have already
entered your age, press the Start button (the pro-
gram will not start at this time). If you have not en-
tered your age, press the Age Set (Lower and
Higher) buttons until your age is shown, and then
press the Start button.

CAUTION: If you have heart prob-
lems, or if you are over 60 years of age and
have been inactive, do not use the pulse pro-
grams. If you are taking medication regularly,
consult your physician to find whether the
medication will affect your exercise heart rate.
