SPEED AND PACE SMOOTHING
QUICK SET: Smoothing On/Off
These settings determine if “smoothing” is applied to the dis-
played speed or pace values. Smoothing is useful if you feel that
the displayed speed or pace values appear to be too erratic or
“jittery”, though smoothing may cause the speed or pace values
to be slow to respond changes in your speed. Smoothing can be
applied separately to speed and pace – experiment with these
settings to see what combination works best for you.
Hands-Free Settings
These settings provide options for having the Chronograph auto-
matically start, stop and take splits. These features are only func-
tional when using the Timex Speed + Distance Sensor.
AUTO-START AND AUTO-STOP
QUICK SET: On/Off
These settings enable the Chronograph to start when you begin
moving (i.e. your velocity changes from zero to non-zero) and stop
when you stop moving (i.e. your velocity returns to zero).
While these features are enabled, you may still start and stop the
Chronograph manually.

AUTO-SPLIT
QUICK SET: By Distance/By Time/Off
This feature will enable the Chronograph to automatically take
splits based on time or distance traveled. While this feature is
enabled you may still take splits manually and manual splits will
not effect the criteria for automatic splits.
When configuring the auto-split feature, the settings are in the
following order:
• Type – OFF, BY DIST or BY TIME
• Interval
