TROUBLE-SHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE
Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple stepsbelow. Find the symptom that applies, and fol-
low the stepslisted. If further assistanceisneeded, call our toll-free HOTUNE at 1-800-736-6879, Monday through
Saturday, 7 a.m. until7 p.m. Central Time (excludingholidays).
1. SYMPTOM: THEPOWER DOES NOT TURN ON
a. Make surethat the power cord is plugged in properly. (See PLUGGING IN THE POWER CORD on page 6.) If an
extension cord is needed, use only a 14-gauge general-purpose cord of five feet or lessin length.
b. Make sure that the safetykey is inserted fullyinto the console. Turnthe speedcontrol knob to the "reset" position.
(See DIAGRAM OF THECONSOLE on page 7.)
Check the circuit breaker located on the front of the frame. The
circuit breaker is designed to protect the electrical system.If the
circuit breaker has tripped, the switch wil! protrude as shown.
To reset the circuit breaker, allow the CROSSWALK to cool for
five minutes, and then push the switch back in.

2. SYMPTOM: THEPOWER TURNS OFF DURING USE
a. Make sure that the power cord is plugged in.
b. Check the circuit breaker locatedon thefront of the frame. If the circuit breaker hastripped, the switchwill pro-
trude. (See the drawing above.) To reset the circuit breaker, allow the CROSS WALK to cool for five minutes,and
then pushthe switchback in.
c. Removethesafetykey from the console. Reinsertthe safetykey fullyintothe console.Turnthe speed controlknob
to the "RESET"position.
3. SYMPTOM: THEMOTIVATIONAL FITNESSMONITOR DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY
a. Checkthe batteriesin the console. (See INSTAllING BATTERIESon page 7.) Most problemsare the resultof
drained batteries.
4. SYMPTOM: THECROSSWALK DOES NOT INCLINE
a. Stand at the back of thefoot rails while increasingthe incline. Stand at the front of thefoot rails and lean forward
while decreasingthe incline.You may need to raise and lower the treadmill several timesto break in the incline
shock.(SeeCHANGING THE INCUNE on page 8.)
5. SYMPTOM: THEWALlaNG BELTSLOWS WHEN WALKED ON
a. Siliconelubricant mustbe applied tothe walking platform before theCROSS WALK isused. Lubricantshouldbe
reapplied after every 10 hoursof use,and whenever a decrease in performance isnoticed. (SeeAPPLYING SIU-
CONE LUBRICANTon page 6 for application instructions.)Uni*Sport siliconespray isrecommended. CAUTION:
ALWAYS UNPLUG THEPOWER CORD WHEN APPLYING LUBRICANT.
