To reduce the frictionof thewalking belt and minimize
wear, a non-oil,non-petroleum-bosesiliconelubricant
mustbeapplied to thewalking platform before the
CROSSWALK isused.WITH THEPOWERCORD
UNPLUGGED,lift each sideof thewalking belt and
spray lubricantgenerouslyontothearea shadedin the
drawing below. Reapplylubricant after everytenhours
of use,or wheneverperformancedecreases.Lubricantis
available at hardware and automotivestores.

PLUGGING IN THE POWER CORD
Thisproductmustbe grounded. If itshouldmalfunction
or break down, grounding provides a path of leastresis-

A temporary adapter like the adapter shownin Drawing
2 may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole recepta-
cle as shown in Drawing 2 if a properly grounded outlet
isnot available.

Thetemporary adapter shouldbe usedonlyuntil a prop-
erly groundedoutlet(Drawing 1) can be installedby a
qualified electrician.The green-colored ear, lug, or the
like extendingfrom theadapter must beconnected toa
permanent ground suchas a properly groundedoutlet
box cover. Whenever the adapter isused,itmustbe
held in place by a metal screw.
Some2-pole receptacle outlet box coversare not
grounded. Contacta qualified electricianto determine
if the outletbox cover isgrounded before usingan
adapter.
