HOW TO USE HEART RATE PROGRAMS
Heart rate program 9 is designed to keep your heart
rate between 50% and 80% of your estimated maxi-
mum heart rate during your workout. (Your maximum
heart rate is estimated by subtracting your age from
220. For example, if you are 30 years old, your esti-
mated maximum heart rate is 190.) Heart rate pro-
gram 10 will keep your heart rate between 50% and
85% of your estimated maximum heart rate. Heart
rate program 11 will keep your heart rate between
50% and 90% of your estimated maximum heart rate.
Heart rate program 12 will keep your heart rate near a
target heart rate that you choose.
