Adjustments
CAUTION
Never work on the cutting unit with the engine
running. Alwaysstopthe engineand remove the
key from the ignition switch before working on
the mower.
NOTE: See Cutting Unit Operator’s Manual for adjust-
ment procedures for the cutting units on your Green-
smaster.
Height/Depth of Groomer Adjustment
NOTE: Grooming is performed above the soil level.
When adjusting groomer height/depth, groomer blades
should never penetrate the s oil.
1. Park machine on a clean and level surface, lower
cutting units completely to the ground, stop engine, en-
gage parking brake and remove key from the ignition
switch.
2. Disconnectthecutting units from the electricalpower
supply by separating the cutting unit power disconnect
couplers (see Opening Electrical Circuitto Cutting Units
in the General Information section of this chapter). This
will prevent unexpected cutting unit operation.
3. Make sure rollers are clean and cutting reel is set to
the desired height--of--cut (see Cutting Unit Operator’s
Manual for cutting unit adjustment procedures).
4. Position the grooming reel to the lowered, grooming
position (Fig. 2).
NOTE: Improper or over--aggressive use of the groom-
ing reel (i.e. too deep or too frequent grooming) may
cause unnecessary stress on the turf leading to severe
greens damage. Use the groomer cautiously.
5. On one end of the grooming reel, measure the dis-
tance from the lowest tip of the groomer blade to the
working surface. Lift and turn height adjustment knob to
raiseorlowerthebladetip(Fig.2).Eachnotchonthe
adjustment knob changes the groomer height approxi-
mately 0.003 inch (0.08 mm).
6. Repeat step 4 on the opposite end of the groomer.
Then, recheck setting on the first side of groomer.
Heightsetting on both endsof groomershould beidenti-
cal.
7. After groomeradjustmentis correct,connectthe cut-
ting unit power disconnect couplers.
