DVD and Video CD time search
1. Press the FRM/TIME button to enter time
input mode.
¶ The time will be displayed flashing on the screen.
¶ With DVDs, pressing the button twice will display the
time flashing on the screen.
Time : 0.00
2. Input the desired time number using the
number pad buttons (0 to 9).
¶ To select 21 minutes and 43 seconds, press [2] [1] [4]
[3] on the number pad, in order.
Time : 21.43
3. Press the SEARCH button.
¶ Playback will begin from the specified time.
¶ Playback from the specified time can also be started
by pressing the PLAY or ENTER button instead of
SEARCH button.
Important
¶ Playback may not begin precisely at the specified time.
¶ With DVDs, time search cannot be performed from the
stop mode.
¶ Time search cannot be performed during PBC playback
with Video CDs.
¶ The highest time that can be designated is 999 minutes
and 59 seconds.
Search playback using Play
Mode menu
Search playback can be performed by using [Search Mode]
within the Play Mode menu.
¶ With DVDs, title search, chapter search, frame search and
time search can be performed.
¶ With CDs, track search can be performed.
¶ With Video CDs, track search and time search can be per-
formed.
1. Load a disc and press the PLAY MODE
button to display the Play Mode menu.

2. Press the down cursor button («) to
select [Search Mode].

3. Use the cursor buttons (», «, |, \) to
select the type of search, and press the
number pad buttons (0 to 9) to input the
desired title/chapter/track/time/frame
number.

¶ For time search, specify the minutes and seconds of
the currently playing title (for DVDs) or currently play-
ing track (for Video CDs).
Example: Inputting [4] [5] [0] [0] will start playback from
45 minutes 00 seconds.
To start playback at 1 hour, 20 minutes, 30 seconds,
input [8] [0] [3] [0], as in 80 minutes 30 seconds.
4. Press the ENTER button.
¶ Playback from the designated section will begin.
Important
¶ The disc must be already playing to perform a search for a
specified time and/or frame.
¶ Search cannot be performed with Video CD discs playing
in PBC mode.
¶ Frame search cannot be performed with DVD-RW discs
recorded in VR format.
