Neverstorelawnmowerwithfuel intankindoorsorin poorly
ventilatedareaswherefuel fumesmayreachan openflame,spark,
or pilot lightasona furnace,waterheater,clothesdryer,or gas
appliance.
PREPARING THE ENGINE
Forenginesstoredover30days:
1. Topreventgumfromformingin fuel systemoron carburetor
parts,runengineuntil it stopsfromlackof fuel oradda gasoline
additivetothe gasin the tank.If youuse agas additive,runthe
enginefor severalminutesto circulatetheadditivethroughthe
carburetor--afterwhichthe engineandfuelcan bestoredupto
sixmonths.
2. Whileengineis stillwarm,changethe oil.
3. Removesparkplugandpourapproximately1oz.(30 ml)of clean
engineoil intothe cylinder.Pulltherecoilstarterseveraltimesto
distributetheoil, and reinstallthesparkplug.
4. Cleanengineof surfacedebris.
PREPARING THE LAWN MOWER
• Whenstoringthe mowerinan unventilatedor metalstorageshed,
careshouldbetakento rustproofthenon-paintedsurfaces.Using
a lightoil orsilicone,coatthe equipment,especiallyany springs,
bearings,andcables.
• Removeall dirt fromexteriorof engineandequipment.
• Followlubricationrecommendations.
Storeequipmentina clean,dryarea. Donotstoreinan area
whereequipmentis presentthatmayuse a pilotlightor hasa
componentthatcan createa spark.
