Cleaning the LCD screen
If fingerprints or dust make the LCD screen dirty, we recommend using a LCD cleaning
kit (not supplied) to clean the LCD screen.
Cleaning the video head
To ensure normal recording and clear pictures, clean the video heads.
When you playback/record in the Digital8 system
The video head may be dirty if
– mosaic-pattern noise appears on the playback picture.
– playback pictures do not move.
– playback pictures are hardly visible.
– playback pictures do not appear.
– the x indicator and “ CLEANING CASSETTE” message appear alternately on the
LCD screen.
When you play back in the Hi8/standard 8 (analog) system
The video head may be dirty if
– playback pictures contain noise.
– playback pictures are hardly visible.
– playback pictures do not appear.
If the above problem occurs, clean the video heads with a Sony V8-25CLD cleaning
cassette (not supplied). Check the picture and if the above problem persists, repeat
cleaning.
