Turning the unit on
% Press SOURCE to turn the unit on.
When you select a source, the unit is turned
on.
Selecting a source
You can select a source you want to listen to.
To switch to the built-in CD player, load a disc
in the unit (refer to page 19).
% Press SOURCE to select a source.
Press SOURCE repeatedly to switch between
the following sources:
Tuner—Television—DVD player/Multi-
DVD player—Built-in CD player—Multi-
CD player—iPod—External unit 1—Exter-
nal unit 2—AUX1—AUX2—Telephone—
BTAudio
Notes
! In the followingcases, the sound sourcewill
not change:
— When thereis no unit corresponding to the
selected source connectedto this unit.
— When thereis no disc inthe unit.
— When thereis no disc inthe DVD player.
— When thereis no magazine inthe multi-
CD player.
— When thereis no magazine inthe multi-
DVD player.
— When theAUX (auxiliary input) is setto off
(refer to page78).
— When theBTAudio source is setto off
(refer to Activatingthe BTAudio source on
page 80).
! External unit refersto a Pioneer product (such
as one availablein the future) that,although
incompatible as asource, enables controlof
basic functions bythis unit. Two external units
can be controlled by this unit.When two exter-
nal units areconnected, the allocationof
them to externalunit 1 or externalunit 2 is
automatically set bythis unit.
! When this unit’s blue/white lead isconnected
to the vehicle’s auto-antenna relay control
terminal, the vehicle’s antenna extendswhen
this unit’s sourceis turned on. To retractthe
antenna, turn thesource off.
Loading a disc
1 Press EJECT to open the front panel.
CD loading slot appears.
# After a CD hasbeen inserted, pressSOURCE
to select thebuilt-in CD player.
2 Insert a CD into the CD loading slot.
Front panel is closed automatically, and play-
back will start.

# You can ejecta CD by pressingEJECT.
Notes
! The built-in CDplayer plays one standard,12-
cm or 8-cmCD at a time.Do not use an adap-
ter when playing 8-cmCDs.
! Do not insertanything other than aCD into
the CD loadingslot.
! There is sometimesa delay between starting
up CD playbackand the sound beingissued.
