Vibration Reduction
Select the vibration reduction setting used when shooting.
Select Off when using a tripod to stabilize the camera during shooting.
B Notes About Vibration Reduction
• After turning on the camera or after switching from playback mode to shooting
mode, wait for the shooting mode screen to be displayed completely before
taking pictures.
• Images in the camera monitor may be displayed blurry immediately after shooting.
• The effects of camera shake may not be completely eliminated in some situations.
AF Assist
Press the d button M z menu icon M Vibration reduction M k button
Option Description
g On (default setting)
Compensation for camera shake is performed using lens
shift VR.
Off Compensation is not performed.
Press the d button M z menu icon M AF assist M k button
Option Description
a Auto
(default setting)
The AF-assist illuminator automatically lights up when you
press the shutter-release button under dim lighting. The
illuminator has a range of about 4.5 m (14 ft) at the maximum
wide-angle position and about 3.0 m (9 ft 10 in.) at the
maximum telephoto position.
• Note that for some scene modes, the AF-assist illuminator
may not light.
Off The AF-assist illuminator does not light.
