Resistor Stud Replacement
ăWARNINGĂ
Old/New Style Resistor Stud and Electrode
To reduce the risk of sparking, which could cause
fire or explosion,BE SURE theelectrode and stud
you install are black. The old style electrode and
stud in theSeries A-D Guns werewhite. DO NOT
mix old style parts with new style parts.
1. Remove theair cap assemblyand fluidnozzle asdeĆ
scribed in Clean the Air Cap and Fluid Nozzle.
2. Remove the electrode as described in Electrode
Replacement.
3. Using the wrench (59h) supplied, unscrew and reĆ
move the resistor stud (16) with the o-ring (17) and
washer (75). See Fig 11.
To install the resistor stud:
1. Lubricate the o-ring (17) with petroleum jelly and
install it on the resistor stud (16).
2. Install the washer (75) in the gun barrel.
3. Using the wrench supplied, install the resistor stud
in the front of the gun barrel. Tighten until snug.
4. Install the electrode as described in Electrode ReĆ
placement.
5. Install the fluid nozzle and air cap assembly as
described in Clean the Air Cap and Fluid Nozzle.
