PREPARATION
On-Screen Display (OSD)
Some of these functions will be displayed briefly during
VCR operation.

❶TAPE SPEED DISPLAY
Shows the current tape speed.
❷FUNCTION DISPLAY
Indicates the function in progress.
❸HI-FI DISPLAY
Indicates when the unit is playing a tape recorded with HI-FI.
❹CHANNEL DISPLAY

ndicates the selected channel (or LINE1/LINE2).
❺STEREO/SAP DISPLAY (MONO is not displayed)
Shows the type of audio signal received by the VCR tuner.
❻DATE DISPLAY
Shows the current date (Month/Day/Day of the week format)
❼CLOCK/COUNTER/TIME REMAINING DISPLAY
Shows current time, tape counter and time remaining time on
the tape.
Each press of the ENTER key changes the TV screen
as follows:
Notes
The function displays are displayed on the TV screen for 3
seconds.
The clock (or tape counter/tape remaining) will continue until
ENTER is pressed.
The tape counter and the tape remaining indicator appear
only when a cassette is inserted. Also, the tape remaining
indicator appears after any tape operation.
Setting the On-Screen Display
The SETUP menu, clock, and timer recordings are
accessible via the on-screen menu system. The follow-
ing pages describe the functionality of the on-screen
menus and displays.
