Preparing for Installation

Required Tools and Equipment
You need the following tools and parts to install a PA-2FE. If you need additional equipment, contact a
service representative for ordering information.
• PA-2FE-TX or PA-2FE-FX
• VIP (for installation in Cisco 7500 series chassis only)
• Cisco 7304 PCI port adapter carrier card (for installation in Cisco 7304 router only)
• Cables appropriate for the PA-2FE interfaces (RJ-45 and multimode optical-fiber cables are not
available from Cisco; they are available from commercial vendors.)
• Number 1 Phillips and a 3/16-inch flat-blade screwdriver (for VIP installation only)
• Number 2 Phillips screwdriver
• Your own electrostatic discharge (ESD)-prevention equipment or the disposable grounding wrist
strap included with all upgrade kits, field-replaceable units (FRUs), and spares
• Antistatic mat
• Antistatic container
