Setting the Aperture ( Mode)
Select the aperture to control the depth of field to give accent to your subject by
blurring the background or the foreground.
1. Turn the mode dial to .
2. Turn the EXP dial to select the aperture.
• Turn the EXP dial up to open the aperture (decrease the F
number) and down to close the aperture (increase the F
number).
• Available settings: F1.6 (1.8 in CARD CAMERA mode), F2.0,
F2.4, F2.8, F3.4, F4.0, F4.8, F5.6, F6.7, F8.0
❍ Shutter speed is adjusted automatically.
❍ If you set an aperture that is either too high or too low for the recording
condition, the indicator flashes. Increase or decrease the setting until the
flashing stops.
