Bow, Wow, Wow! Build your own barking Gears!
®
Coggy Doggy™. These easy-to-build models are both
challenging and educational for young aspiring children. Each doggy model comes to life with a battery
powered motor, and brightly colored construction pieces. Build the models shown in this guide or make
your own creation!
Before you begin, take time to identify all of the pieces, matching them to the parts guide on the
following page. Also, make sure an adult properly installs 4 “AA” batteries in the motor’s hand
controller. See the last page in this guide for more, important battery care information.
Building Tips
As you build, test the motor every so often to make sure the gears are moving properly. Make
sure you do not overload the motor with too many gears, as this may put a strain on the motor
and cause it to fail. If you notice the gears are moving very slowly, remove some of the gears or
replace the batteries.
When attaching Crown Gears, first connect an axle with a small gear on one side. Then, place
Crown Gear, connected to a half pillar with a peg on top. If you place a gear on the other side of
the axle, the gears may lock up. See instruction guide for peg and half pillar assembly.
The Gears! models will work best if gears are properly attached and touching the floor, as well as
moving in the same direction on both sides. Test this by placing the model on the floor and push
the forward and backward buttons on the motor.
When building the Coggy Doggy model, make sure that the motor cord is not tangled with the
gears. This could cause strain on the motor, and cause it to fail.
The center button on the motor controller is for doggy sounds. Press this button to hear an
assortment of sounds played one at a time. The sounds will automatically shut off until the
button is pushed again.
