5 but if I set mine to 50 the minute I pull the cable my display goes to 240 lbs. , but the resistance stays at fifty. I've had it for 4 years and it just started. I'd like to fix it or trash it.

1 seriously. I'm experiencing the same problem with mine. Every time I set the resistance to anything higher than 10, the minute I pull the display switches to 10; but the actual resistance stays at say 50lbs and doesn't go back down. If anyone knows what to do, please help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

0 I've had this machine for a little over 3 years. It works, but i've had the same issue from day one. I set the machine to desired weight, but it goes back to 10 lbs. I even changed the computer plate, same thing happend. You can still use it, as long as it's plugged in and you'll get resistance, but you'll never know what weight your lifting. I know, it's awful.
