My Schwinn 235i display console "pings," when the ...

My Schwinn 235i display console "pings," when the bike is pedaled. With or without batteries the display is erratic. The Nautilus people say it is probably needing either a new console or a new generator. Is anyone familiar with something else it could be?

0 This is a common problem with this circuit board. What I do usually is that I open to console and blow air through electronics. Most often this solves the problem and the unit works for a few months and again goes bad and you have to do this again.
