Proforma xp 580 has worked very well for the year ...

Proforma xp 580 has worked very well for the year and half I have owned it until now. When I place the starter magnet on dash nothing happens but "ff" appears on the third screen from the right and only if reset button is on. What is wrong and how do I fix it? Thanks for you help
