Question About ProForm Treadmill 831.299371

When i turn the treadmill on and I'm not on it , it goes fine but when i get on it, it stops. I fi i stand on it and start it, it will go for a few seconds and then stop or lock up with a humming sound. I think i may need to do some maintenance but i bought it used with no book. HELP please, it's too cold to run outside.
