My console would light up, but none of the buttons (with the exception of one program) would work. I used scissors to cut about a 1/2 inch slit in the plastic in between the different wires on the ribbon cable. Then I seated each one until I found the one that was making the console buttons not function. In the end, I left one of those wires hanging out, seated the rest, and now all of the buttons except for the one program that worked before work now.
