Why does my Viewpoint 2800 motor seemingly shut do...

Why does my Viewpoint 2800 motor seemingly shut down after about 45 seconds of walking. If I step off, it starts back up again. I have checked the belt, 3-4 inches of lift in the middle and it has been lubricated. Thanks, Lloyd
