how do u use the 6 set programs on my excel 325 st...

how do u use the 6 set programs on my excel 325 stationary magnetic bike. i can change the resistance 1-8 but by using the programs does it on its own?? i dont think using the programs it does. i think u have to set the resistance. any suggestions??
