I recently purchased a 33 in 12.5 hp craftsman snow blower and the sticker with the model # is faded to be unreadable. The engine model # is 143.001201 The auger belt is slipping and I need to replace it. The belt is approximately 37.5 in by 7/16, the drive control is on the left and the auger is on the right. Comparing to manuals so far it is not the 247.88833 Any help is appreciated Do I just try to replace with similar or slightly smaller belt?

Drive on snow blower seems to slip. If I back it up and move forward with no resistance, it seems to 'catch' and work fine for a while. Under load, it frequently reverts to slipping. No problems with the auger
