Locate the Reed Switch (33) and the Magnet (32)
on the right sideof the Pulley (31). Turn thePulley
until the Magnet isaligned withthe ReedSwitch,
Make sure that the gap between the Magnet
and the Reed Switch is about 1/8 in.(3 mm).
Ifnecessary, loosenthe #8x 314"Truss Head
Screw (14), move the Reed Switch slightly, and
then retighten theScrew, Carefully slidethe Motor
Hood (not shown)back on by liningupthe guides.
Reattaeh the MotorHoodwiththe five#8 x 3/4"
Screws (notshown), Then, plug inthe powercord,
insert the key,and runthe treadmill for afew min-
utes to checkfor a correctspeed reading,

SYMPTOM: The incline of the treadmill does not
change correetty
a. Hold down the Stop button and the Speed increase
buttes, insert the key into the console, and then
retease the Stop button and the Speed increase
button. Press the Stop button and then press the
[ncline increase or decrease button. The treadmill
will automatically rise to the maximum incline level
and then return to the minimum level. This will re-
calibrate the incliee sysfem. If the incline does not
. begin calibrating, press the Stop button again, and
then press the Incline increase or decrease button
again. When the incline is calibrated, remove the
key from the console.
SYMPTOM: The walking belt slows when walked on
a. Use only a single-outtst surge suppressor thst
meets all of the specifications described on
page 13.
b. Ifthe walkingbelt is overtightened, treadmitlper-
formance may decrease and the walkingbeIt may
become damaged. Remove the key and UNPLUG
THE POWER CORD. Usingthehex key, turnboth
idler roller screwscounterclockwise, 1/4 ofa turn.
Whenthe wal,kingbelt ispropedytightened, you
should be abletolifteach edge of the walkingbelt
2 to 3 in. [5to 7 cm) offthe walking platform,Be
carefulto keep the walkingbeltcentered, Then,
pluginthe powercord,tnsedthekey, and runthe
treadmillfora few minutes. Repeat untilthe walk-
ing belt isproperlytightened,

high-performancelubricant.IMPORTANT: Never
apply silicone spray or other substances to the
walking beltor the walking pIatform unless in-
structed to do so by an authorized service rep-
resentative. Such substances may deteriorate
the walking heft and cause excessive wear. tf
yoususpectthat thewalkingbelt needs morelubri-
cant,seethe front coverofthismanual.
