Resetting DST

When I reset DST , I have to reprogram everything. How do I avoid this?

    Try holding only the left side for 3 seconds.

    Hi,
    Go to DST and hold left button 3 sec. Go to Max. speed, and hold 3 sec. DO NOT go to ODO and hold left button 3 sec. That wipes out data!+!)**!
