Conair Scale ww30R

not working-display is dark

Tried two different batteries. Both batteries are good 3 volt. Missing a plastic cap on the back 2 inch by 3/4 inch covering electronics. Is there a jumper missing from the two terminals that are inside this cover? covered by warrenty?
