I get a readout for the outdoor temp. as LL.L What does that mean?

This thermometer will only register to -4 degrees, if it's below that, the "LL.L" reading displays. I just found that out myself. Kind of useless in Wisconsin.

I contacted the manufacturer and following is their response:
Regular alkali batteries will operate outdoors to about 25 degrees F.
Below this they get too cold to generate enough power to broadcast the
signal. Lithium batteries will operate to about -4 degrees F. If the
temperature is colder than this, the display will show LL.L until the
temperature rise above -4. Hope this information proves to be helpful to
you.
Living in Michigan, this isn't exactly helpful, but at least it verifies the status of the unit.
