Can You Help With This Problem?

  Bell Wireless Speedometer
  Mine has just stopped working.
  I've changed the battery and and aligned the magnet with the pickup device
  
  What am I missing
  Is there a power source in the transmitter?
  Do they have to be closer together?
  Any help appreciated
